Blossom Sugar Art – Christmas face mould

6th November 2018

With Christmas fast approaching (yes it’s November already!) it’s time to think about what we are going to bake and decorate for the festive season!

This months cake bag has the tools you need to create beautiful cake decorations to adorn your bakes!

One of the items included in November’s Snowflakes & Sparkles edition is this fun Christmas Face Mould from Blossom Sugar Art.

It has 4 designs; Reindeer, Snowman, Santa and an Elf!

It’s so easy to use to create cute little faces which are perfect to pop on top of cupcakes!

All you need is some white sugarpaste or modelling paste and a few different colours of blossom tints & lustre dusts or gel food colouring mixed with some rejuvenator fluid or clear alcohol and a couple of small paint brushes.

Simply take a small amount of sugarpaste and push into the desired mould (I’m demonstrating the snowman in this tutorial).

Turn the mould over and flex it a little to help the snowman pop out of the mould.

Leave to harden and set a little.

Meanwhile, select the colours you want to use to paint the details on the face. Mix them with the alcohol or lemon extract and use various paint brushes to bring out the details of the faces.

I used a slightly bigger brush to paint the hat and scarf.

Leave to dry completely whilst you whip up a batch of delicious cupcakes! Top with swirls of buttercream and sprinkles then pop the faces on top of each cupcake!

You can repeat the steps above for all the other face designs using the desired colours to bring out the details. They would make perfect homemade treats to give as gifts or bring along to your festive gatherings with family and friends!

Buy this month’s edition of Cake Bag with this fab mould included.

Happy baking!
