Using edible glue in cake decorating

12th August 2019

June’s edition of cake bag included a little pot of edible confectioners glue among other the fab products!

I get through so much edible glue, as it’s so handy for sugarcraft.

There are a few different brands available on the market and this one from Sugarflair is high strength; which is ideal for applying decorations to celebration cakes, cupcakes and decorated biscuits.

To use, just dip a paintbrush in the pot of glue and paint on the back of your sugar decorations before positioning on your cakes.

I also paint my cake drums with this glue to attach the fondant icing and leave to dry overnight before I place my covered cakes on the iced board.

The other reason I love this is that it’s dries clear and really does a great job of holding sugar decorations in place alongside attaching more bulky details such and characters, creatures and flowers!

We would love to see what you have used your confectioners glue for; so don’t forget to share with us across social media using the #cakebagcreations tag! Or why not join our Facebook group – Subscribers Corner and share all your creations using the products inside your cake bags!

Happy Baking!
